Stacy's gorgeous wedding portrait seemed like an excellent candidate to turn into an heirloom. I changed the background and placed her behind the painted glass panel. Then printed it on canvas and overpainted with acrylic. Then I framed the final 12"x28" portrait.
Mary Phillips of Butler, PA collected Chinese ivory and jade carvings for many years. She left her collection in her Maridon Museum. The museum had no portrait of Mary to display. They gave me a digital thumbnail to work with. I did some fractal and AI software magic to enlarge it to 22"x28". I substitued the background with a photo I took in China of a beautiful garden. The small statue on the wall in the upper right corner was the first piece in Mary's collection. If you ever get a chance, be sure to visit this fabulous hidden gem of a museum.

Magazine Cover for Emmet County, MI Historical Society to celebrate their involvement in the French and Indian War. My original photo of a re-enactment had a video crew in the background. I removed the crew and cropped the image for this magazine cover. The image was also used for a brochure advertising an exhibit at the Pellston, MI airport and later in Mackinaw City. A life size cutout of the indian brave is also part of the International Dark Sky Park at The Headlands near Mackinaw City.
Georgia O'Keffee said that God told her that he would gift Cerro Pedernal to her if she painted it enough times. I photographed her flat top black mountain from a butte beside her Ghost Ranch home near Santa Fe. The horrible eyesore power plant just ruined the gorgeous vista that O'Keefe enjoyed. I painted out the power plant and put Georgia's spirit in the sky with her wistful little smile of approval. A cloudy day resulted in a washed out photo of the House of the Vestal Virgins at the Roman Forum in Rome Italy. I removed all the undesirable elements and made the image look like what I saw in my mind's eye. The final image was printed 20"x30" on canvas and overpainted with acrylic. It's fun to fantasize what it would have been like to live here 2,000 years ago. This image is available for purchase, Contact Dennis Keyes for information on how to order.
This image was prepared for a CD cover for two contemporary musicians. They supplied me with a small photo of Paul Joun, a Russian Composer who died in the early 20th century whose compositions they were recording for the CD. I set the musicians up having in mind to clone Juon in with them. The image on the right was merged and decolorized for the final presentation.
"The Glass Supper" Each autumn a group of entrepreneurs organizes a week long glassblowing event in the Pocono Mountains that they call "MELT". I got a great photo of one of the organizers discussiong a piece with some attendees. It kind of reminded me of "The Last Supper". I cloned in the rest of the organizers to make an even dozen "apostles". Then I printed it on canvas and overpainted with acrylic.
